When Quigley demonstrates his marksmanship for Marston, he adjusts the vernier for distance before checking how far Whitey has ridden with the bucket. Quigley looks up @ 19:24. He tells Marston to signal Whitey to stop @ 19:50. So, Whitey rides a full 26 seconds further after Quigley looks up to take his distance reading. His distance setting therefore is incorrect, so he really shouldn't be able to hit the bucket (3 times, no less).
