During the car chase with Doug in the present and the bomber 4 days in the past, they both end up facing each other. Even though Doug's vehicle is in broad daylight and the amount of time he sits facing the bomber a truck hits him. Even at speed this truck would have seen him sitting there from a distance back and either stopped or turned ti avoid him.
