In "Near Algodones", the banker disappears below the counter and then a pump-action shotgun racking a round is heard before he shoots through the counter at the robber. When the robber jumps up and looks behind the counter though, you see that all three shotguns are side-by-side, and so no racking would have been necessary or even possible.
