At the opening of the film, Paulson makes a cup of tea for his wife who is still in bed. He carries the tea, and the paper, which is the Daily Express for Friday 22 January 1954, and starts to climb the stairs. When he reaches the bedroom, he has the Express for the previous day (21 January) which he gives to her.
