When Erica returns from the restaurant after confronting Harry, she picks up her phone messages and the system says she has 1 new message. It was from Julian. But just prior to that, Harry had called Erica from his apartment and, although he didn't speak, he had activated Erica's voice mail past the beep, so there should have been 2 new messages... one of them dead air.
