At the end of the film it says that McVicar was arrested in 1970, this means that the action before is before his arrest,(obviously), but throughout the film in the street scenes there are cars from from a later date, most notable in a scene were the e-type jag turns right it is behind what appears to be a mark IV cortina,(late seventies model)
