For the entire series there is never any explanation why the IMF team leader has to obtain the mission information in relatively unsecured locations when it could just as easily and more securely have been delivered to him at his base location. What's more, he usually listens to the briefing out in the open, where any passerby could overhear the supposedly secret information. If nothing else he should have used an earphone to keep it private.
