Attempting to hitchhike, young Barry is running along the side of the road yelling at a car passing by. One shot shows his feet next to the road for several seconds with him not passing by anything. The next shot is him running away from the camera, followed by a close up of his face as he runs. During this time, he never passes a vehicle or anything but open road to his left. Yet his mom suddenly reaches her hand out from off camera and grabs him, and the shot cuts to a wide angle and suddenly he and her are standing just a few feet away from their broken down car. Yet Barry was running along several yards of clear road and never passed anything. The car and his mother just appeared.
