Traditional English units of measurement are used at least twice in the film's song lyrics. In the song "We Don't Talk About Bruno," Camilo mentions Bruno's "seven-foot frame, rats along his back," and in the song "What Else Can I Do," Isabela mentions that she can create "flor de Mayo by the mile." Colombia adopted the metric system in 1853. This is probably poetic license, especially as "by the mile" is effectively a figure of speech.
