Wai Lin is submerged underwater for considerable time, and Bond "rescues" her by breathing air into her mouth. Bond would have exhaled ~some~ carbon dioxide, but the lungs don't process ALL the oxygen inhaled. This is why Artificial Respiration to save a drowning victim works.
