When Jenny gets a job in Memphis as a "folk singer," Forrest goes to see her and tell her that he is shipping out to Vietnam. The year should be 1967 (born in 44, U of A 18 years later, 5 years playing football, graduation, enlistment). Outside the club in Memphis, Jenny tells Forrest he doesn't know what love is. Significantly, there is a Love's truck stop sign in the background. Musket Corp did not change their company name to Love's until 1972 and there most likely would not have been a location in Memphis yet. Very nice sign for visual messaging, though.
