Drilling 800ft into an asteroid the size of Texas wouldn't even be remotely close to the core which would be necessary to split it in two. The asteroid is not a perfect sphere but for comparison's sake a sphere with the surface area of Texas (268,597 square miles) would have a radius of 292 miles (the core).
