In the scene where Dewey is stabbed and Gail is on the other side of the glass, he repeatedly thumps the glass and there is no sound, proven by the lack of reaction for m Gail.. Even if it is soundproof you would hear him thumping on it, just like you can hear Ghostface thumping on it a few seconds after stabbing Dewey.
