During the final part of the battle scene with the Russian Sub, Commander Hunter orders a right full rudder and to launch the Starboard Counter-Measures. This would have placed the submarine behind the counter-measures and vulnerable for them to hit as they passed-through the noisemakers. Sub drivers always go in the opposite direction that countermeasures are launched from.
