The first non-introductory scene is a 3 on 3 swim meet between Macdonald Hall and York Academy. One swimmer fails to start - presumably from the inexperienced Macdonald Hall (this scene existing only to portray their inexperience) - leaving 5 swimmers, who would be 3 from York and 2 from McDonald Hall. But at the end when Boots looks up at the results, he is the only swimmer from Macdonald Hall, the other 4 places listed as York, when they only would have had 3 swimmers racing. When the York team snubs Boots later, there are indeed only 3.
