Lauren Halsey is a Type 1 diabetic, but when she tests her blood sugar in the tent on arrival she puts the blood on the testing strip and then inserts it into the meter, this would cause the meter to show an error, the strip must be inserted into the meter first then the blood droplet placed on the end of the strip for it to generate a result.
