Police inspector Cholet, at lunch with the magistrate and the army colonel, asks "why would he (Brossard) leave a revolver with a silencer on the body (of assassin Manenbaum)?" That's factually incorrect. The assassin's weapon was a semi-automatic pistol with a silencer, not a revolver with a silencer. Perhaps in Brian Moore's book, it was a revolver, and lines from the book influenced the movie dialogue?
