At the 90-minute mark in the film, Texas Ranger Marcus Hamilton walks onto Toby Howard's property to question him since he is fairly certain that Toby had been helping his deceased brother Tanner rob several banks. Marcus admits to Toby that he's the man who killed his brother (albeit justifiably). Then Ranger Hamilton says: "Well, you could shoot me now and be within your rights." That statement is factually inaccurate in the state of Texas and throughout the United States. Property owners, residents, and tenants cannot use "deadly force" against a trespasser simply because that person is "on their property without permission."
