In the first season Richie and Potsy are best pals but by the second season and on, Richie becomes closer to Fonzie while it's revealed that Potsy and Ralph have been best friends since Kindergarten. For the majority of the first season, Richie and Potsy hardly knew Ralph and didn't even acknowledge him until High School.
