There is a long establishing shot of Thomas and Crawford pulling up in front of the mansion plus a shot of them being led into the house. During this time you do not hear any skeet shooting taking place. When they emerge into the back yard the general is shooting once every few seconds. Also, the general is shooting where the clay fragments would fall onto a neighbor's backyard. The umbrellas of a patio set are clearly visible on the other side of the wall. Beyond this, the skeet machine is firing to the left, whereas the general is shooting straight-on.
