Caesar is depicted as suffering from epilepsy. While this was believed at the time that the film was made, several new theories have surfaced. One theory posits that Caesar suffered Transient Ischemic Attacks, more commonly known as "mini-strokes." Another, and equally plausible theory is that the seizures were caused by recurrences of the malaria Caesar had contracted in his youth.
