There was some fudging by the film production regarding exactly what era Ben belongs to. His graduating college in '65 puts him into the Boomer category. He would not be devoted to suits and ties like the WWII generation. Having been the same age as his office-mates during the Woodstock era would not make him so attached to pajamas and handkerchiefs. The fact that he didn't begin his business career until 10 years after graduation would suggest an even more "loosening of the tie" so to speak. Ben as he is presented probably should've been 80.
