When The Three Stooges first arrive at Columbia in 1934, they are brought to a soundstage and introduced to a man standing there with "And here's your director, Del Lord". Lord didn't direct his first Stooge short until 193--by which time the Stooges had been making shorts at Columbia for almost a year--and the first time he ever met them was shortly before shooting began on that initial film.
