The death of Raynald of Châtillon was slightly different than the film, where he is killed by Saladin as he slashes his throat after Raynald drinks cold water from a cup that was given to Guy. In reality, while it is true that Saladin did the execution in person, Raynald was decapitated. Also, Guy was terrified, and Saladin assured him that had killed Raynald "for his wickedness and malice", and that he had nothing to fear.
