The movie is set in an alternate history which diverged from ours in 1938. In many ways that reality is more advanced than ours, due to the inventiveness of Dr. Manhattan and other geniuses. Most apparent anachronisms and factual errors in technology, design, fashion, music, communications, weaponry, uniforms, and other areas, cannot be counted as goofs for this reason. Any internal inconsistencies should be regarded as plot holes at best, and redundant at least.
