Akhnot blows himself up with one of Zorg's guns near the beginning when he fails to arrive with the stones. And yet he is also part of the attack on the Phloston Hotel. This is because he survives the explosions (pretty tough guy, huh). This is explained in when the mangalores decide to go to Phloston to fetch the stones to force Zorg to negotiate (1h 2 m). (Now, this could still be considered a plot hole, if Akhnot is the severely injured mangalore giving those orders to Akanit, cause no one of the mangalores showing up in Phloston have that heavy injuries. However it is quite hard to tell the mangalores apart.)
