The balloon with the capsule is to be recovered by one of the Soviet fighter planes, seemingly with a system equivalent to the Fulton ground to air recovery system as was used by the United States and Great Britain until 1996. Soviet Union however never developed a such a recovery system. Moreover, the system would never have been used with a tactical (fighter or attack) aircraft as seen in this film. Such an aircraft would not have the room for the equipment to first catch and then reel in the package. That system requires a large and complex winch system to work.
