After Belle and Maurice leave their house behind to go to the castle to rescue the beast. It's unknown if Maurice still owned the house, or if the property was confiscated by Monsieur D'Arque as Gaston payed him money, also the villagers thought Maurice was crazy and he was going to be thrown in the Asylum.
