When Mike has his head chopped off, he is still able to talk. Humans can only talk by passing air from the lungs, across the vocal cords and shaping the sounds with our mouth, tongue and lips. With no lungs to provide air, Mike's head should have only been able to mouth words, not be able to speak them aloud.
