In the movie when curly had to cut his hair, he was reluctant and hesitant, and Helen cuts his hair. In reality, it was all Curly's idea, Moe explained in an interview that they told Curly that he had to have an iconic hairstyle. Curly replied "I'll be back in an hour". And when Curly came back an hour later, Moe described him "looking bald as a cue ball, he looked like a naked eggplant."
