It's clearly shown that the virus also affects dogs and rats. Before any research would be allowed to be made on humans, it would require to extensively be made on rats, to prove its safety. Its nefarious effects would certainly be discovered and rats' bodies properly be wiped. In the same way, any possibility of the virus reproducing on living bodies and being transmitted in any way would be researched and known, which would mean a denial on going on the research.
