Standing atop the staircase, Mrs. Warren fires one shot from a handgun into Professor Warren at the foot of the stairs (at 1:19:14). As she continues ranting at him - and firing shots into him - he finally slumps dead fully across one of the lower steps (at 1:19:58; that's 44 seconds of screen time!).Mrs. Warren then orders nearby Helen to hurry down the stairs, unlock the wine cellar, free Steve from it, and quickly bring him up the stairs. However, the professor's body - now - is slumped with his back against the staircase wall, and across 2 adjacent vertical steps. That creates a clear walking or running path on the stairs. Helen does not have to leap OVER a body on stairs. The professor's body appears to have been re-positioned by director and filming crew between takes. Helen easily runs down the newly-cleared stairs next to the body (at 1:20:14). The director knew that running up or down a staircase while leaping a body, would be unwise.
