The Nazi truck that Indy takes over in Egypt that is carrying the Ark is occupied by about 6 or 8 or soldiers that are all clearly between the ages 35 and 60. And the soldier that Indy throws out the windshield and runs over is clearly in his 50s. This is not likely since the recruitment age for soldiers for most military organizations is between 18 and 25, and while it is possible that there may be some long term experienced officers in the German army, their rank would likely be higher than the standard and would not be given such an assignment.
