Realistically, overloading a nuclear reactor of that size would have resulted in an explosion that would have spread radioactive fallout over Jamaica, Cuba and Haiti, and rendered portions of Jamaica uninhabitable for over a century. But naturally, this is Bond movie physics and things don't work as they would in real life.
