When the 'elephants' appear in long shot they are as tall as a 20 story building and sweep aside the troops like insects but when one of the
controllers is killed you see that they are not much larger than normal elephants. This also seen when Orlando Bloom's character gets onto one of them and kills it after cutting loose the turret on its back.
