When Geiger exits the bookstore and gets into his car it is pouring rain, and the driver's side window is up. Geiger drives home and it is still a downpour when he pulls into his driveway. As he gets out of the car it is clear that the driver's side window is now open. Close attention to the scene shows Geiger holding the driver's side door, through the open window, as he leaves the car and heads to his front door.
