(at around 1h 11 mins) When Nedry crashes the Jeep, the camera cuts to a shot of the rear wheel spinning, indicating the vehicle's transfer case was in 2 wheel drive. As the vehicle in question is a 1992 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, it would have had an option for four wheel drive on the transfer case, as all Jeep Wranglers do. Nedry wouldn't have had to use the winch, he would have only had to put the transfer case in four wheel drive, and the Jeep would have simply crawled out.
