Despite the fact Ferris's dad joined in the singing of Twist and Shout he somehow failed to spot Ferris who was performing in public. He was in an office building several stories above a crowded parade - he wouldn't have been able to positively identify anyone, not even the main performer.However, if he could hear the music playing, surely he would've recognized Ferris's voice saying "Cameron Frye, this one's for you" earlier.
