The M1911A1 pistol used by Capt. Kang is really a civilian Colt MK.IV/Series 80 pistol, developed in the 1980s and never a government-issue weapon. It can be distinguished from an actual GI M1911A1 due to its bright finish, commercial slide markings and a differently-shaped front sight.
