Although it is unclear if Ray Finkel/Lois Einhorn genuinely identifies as a woman or is a mentally ill cisgender man who has gone to great lengths to disguise himself as a woman (including top surgery and hormone therapy), any transgender woman can attest to the fact that there is no permanent physical way of altering one's voice through either surgery or hormones. Most transgender women undergo voice training to learn to speak in a more feminine register, but generally it is not their "natural" voice - meaning Einhorn is always "performing" her voice. After Einhorn has been found out, she becomes emotional and screams "Die, animal boy!" at Ace, but still continues to sound the exact same and not any different than she has throughout the film.
