At the close of the film, when Jan Cornell is at the radio station microphone reading her prepared script in order to reveal the name of the murderer, she takes a drink of water and then pretends to die from poison previously placed in it by the murderer. However, even if she had died, the name of the murderer would obviously have been included in the script, thereby instantly implicating the guilty person in front of the many witnesses present.
