When the control room has proven less than impregnable, Blofeld escorts Bond (at gunpoint) out through a secret passage leading to a spherical monorail car. Yet, less than a minute later, when Tanaka points out the main stairway to the control is proving too well defended, Bond doesn't even think to remind him of the second stairway he had just come down! He has to wait to see the panic-stricken SPECTRE scientists fleeing down a _third_ back staircase.
