Anne finds the hidden space behind the stairs by accident. But when the police interrupt her abduction by Milo, he quickly finds and uses it. How is it that both Anne and Milo find this hiding place so easily, but the police don't/can't? If he had asked Anne, she would have not reason to disclose it.
