Part of the story Turing tells the detective in order to clear himself of spying for the Soviets, involves him essentially confessing that during the War he and Stewart Menzies had indeed leaked military secrets to the Soviet Union, which is exactly the kind of evidence Nock was looking for to expose Turing as a spy rather than a secret hero.
