Shopping in the 1985 GUM shopping center shows bar codes which is a technology way too futuristic for that time period. In reality they would barely even have calculators. Soviet shops were much poorer than shown and couldn't have that range and quantity of products in stores (lemons, oranges etc) even in the 1990's.
