East coast Navy squadrons deploy on carriers that patrol the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Indian Oceans and nearby bodies of water. West coast Navy squadrons deploy on carriers to the Pacific Ocean and adding waters. The same squadron would not deploy to both Fleet areas of operations.
