It takes 6.8 seconds for the horse carrying Bond and Domino to leap from from the clifftop fortress into the sea, a dive of 744 feet. Even though all three are seen to be swimming away, from that height there's no soft landing in water since it can't get out of the way fast enough; and while a tiny mouse can fall from any height without injury, the opposite is horrendously true for a large animal such as a horse.
