An adult has 206 bones, beginning with 270 bones at birth, a number of which fuse by adulthood, resulting in a final count of 206. If Sarah broke his forearm completely, this would mean breaking two bones - the radius and the ulna. In fact, she did not strike his arm but his wrist at the base of the thumb, which means she broke his hand, not his arm.
