When Brody is quizzing Chrissie's boyfriend at the start of the film about what happened to her when she went in to the sea, they begin running over to the amity island police officer and as they do you can see several footprints in the sand all facing in the direction that they are heading with no other footprints being shown anywhere else clearly indicating that the footprints shown on the beach are from previous takes.
