Genie can somehow impersonate famous celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rodney Dangerfield despite the fact this film takes place hundreds of years before they were born. However, as he is a magical wish-granting being, it's likely possible that he has the ability to time travel to centuries after the events of the movie take place and see them in action himself. This is also demonstrated in other animated Disney features like La spada nella roccia.
